Born Thomas Kelvin Lane, to Thomas I Lane and Betty J Lane, on May 28 1954 at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Raised in the Christian Church, Independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, also known as the Restoration Movement. Christians in this fellowship were often referred to as “Campbellites” during the 19th Century, in reference to Thomas and Alexander Campbell, founders and leaders of this movement, a part of what is also known as the Second Great Awakening.

  1. Early years (elementary school years) in Michigan, within 100 miles of Detroit.
  2. Moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1966.
  3. Completed High School and started college in Memphis.
  4. Went away to attend Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri.
  5. Played Trombone and Bass Trombone in High School and College. Music scholarships helped pay for college.
  6. Travelled for two years with the Impact Brass & Singers from the college – played Bass Trombone.
  7. Graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Sacred Literature, moved to Central Illinois, married and started a family.
  8. Ministered to congregations in Champaign, Illinois and Princeton, Kentucky.
  9. After 10 years in paid ministry, left the located ministry to concentrate on family.
  10. Discovered an aptitude for computer and IT work – working in various retail stores, teaching in the local community college, and finally concentrating on IT Consulting and Technician jobs as both employee and contractor.
  11. Continued teaching and preaching in the churches on a volunteer basis.
  12. After family and employment issues, moved to Hobe Sound, Florida.
  13. Worked as an IT contractor in the Treasure Coast/West Palm Beach area.
  14. Worshipped and fellowshipped with the congregation at Westport Christian Church in Port St Lucie, Florida.

In June 2014, was asked by the elders to take the minister’s position at Westport upon the retirement of the minister, George Randolph.

Stepped back into the paid/located ministry as of July 1, 2014.
